A New Decade celebrating the Australian Kelpie

For over ten years the Casterton Community has embraced its local icon the Kelpie and celebrated it on the June long weekend with the Australian Kelpie Muster.  Last year saw record crowds and this year it is expected to top that. This year promises to be a a mix of both fun and serious business.     Saturday, the Kelpie Festival is a great fun day full of free activities for all the family to be a part of.   The much loved Poets Breakfast, Kelpie High Jump, Kelpie Hill Climb, Stockman’s Challenge, Kids Club and all the regular events will be there.  In addition there will be a range of novelty events for everyone to participate in!   Saturday night everyone can kick up their heals at the annual Kelpie Ball.  The Casterton Polocross Club have put together a fabulous night for everybody's enjoyment.  There are limited tickets available and they are only $25.  Book early so as not to miss out.  Phone 0419861323. click here for more information   Sunday's Auction which has become known as Australia's premier working dog auction provides the unique opportunity for buyers to view all the dogs in the sale catalogue demonstrate in yard, paddock and truck loading situations.    Would you like to polish your dog training skills?  Then perhaps you would benefit from a Working Dog Training School will be conducted on the 9th of June, following the Muster weekend.    Accommodation is available if required.  For more information please contact Rodney James on 03 55791374.           For more details click on Festival or Working Dog Auction
