Expanded Trade Pavilion this year


VISITORS to Casterton's Island Park on Sunday, June 7 will have plenty to see with an expanded Trade Pavilion featuring merchandise from a wide array of local enterprises.

A popular destination for the visitors to day two of the Australian Kelpie Muster weekend, trade pavilion organiser, Shirley Foster said there would be a diverse selection of businesses represented.
“The range of exhibitors in the trade pavilion this year will ensure there is something of interest for all ages,” she said.
The trade pavilion will be open from 9am to 3pm and this year’s exhibitors will include:
Bull Rush Clothing Company: Browse through the latest range of Australian country lifestyle clothing for men, women and children from this popular label.
Pot Around Nursery: Meet Ross and Coreen and find something special for your garden with a good range of pots, plants and garden accessories on offer.
Woodcraft: Casterton local, Peter Kellet specialises in Australian hardwoods and will display beautiful tables and many other items made from local red gum and blackwood timbers.
Dog accessories: A keen dog trialler, Matt Simmonds knows from experience how valuable good dog collars and leads are.  He has been making dog accessories for the last three years and will have a good range to select from.
Leather Goods: Local identity Carol Baudinette is well known for her quality leatherwork and she will have a big selection of belts, collars and much more on offer.
Beckonbees Honey: A range of delicious natural honey direct from bee keepers in the Limestone Coast region.
Candles by Kay Luers: Select from an extensive range of candles to find the perfect candle for every special moment.
Great Coffee Moments: Take time out to enjoy a delicious freshly brewed coffee from long-time muster weekend supporter, Tim Brady.
Shalimar Lavender: Inspect the aromatic and colourful exhibit created by Sandra McFarlane of Melville Forest who will bring her range of natural lavender products including hand creams, soaps and body lotions.
Howlong Fencing: Former local, Sally Chang of Wodonga will display her range of dog yards and fencing for the first time in the trade pavilion this year.
Karen Muller Designs: Look through the large range of made-to-measure oilskin clothing for children and adults including jackets, overalls and vests.
Karla Northcott Photography: Meet this well-known western districts photographer and discuss the options for capturing your family, your pets, your wedding and much more on film.
Bag Sense: Inspect the range of bags in all shapes and sizes in bright cheerful colours.  Bags are available in PVC, canvas, neoprene and many other materials and are all made by Hilda Pfitzner in her Naracoorte studio.
Ann James greeting cards: Select from the wide variety of Kelpie-inspired greeting cards featuring photographs which capture the Kelpie at work and at play.
Cookie Fix: Jan Murphy will return with her usual wide selection of delicious cakes and biscuits.
Coffee Treat: Enjoy a freshly brewed gourmet coffee made by Casterton local, Wendy Smith while wandering through the trade pavilion.
Visitors to the trade pavilion are also encouraged to inspect the entries received in this year’s Kelpie Muster photographic competition and cast their vote for their favourite photo in the “Visitor’s Choice” award. A special prize will be awarded to the entry with the most votes cast on Sunday, June 7 between 9am and 3pm. 
For car enthusiasts, the Casterton Vintage Car Club will have a variety of cars and tractors all shiny and ready for inspection including a 1958 Holden FC, a 1959 Morris Minor convertible, plus a Ferguson tractor from 1950.
The Sungold Dog Bowl will again offer a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks throughout the day, with breakfast also available for those with an early start.
A $5 entry fee will apply to all visitors to Island Park on Sunday, June 7 and only dogs registered for sale in the auction will be permitted entry to the site.
