2009 Kelpie Muster

Casterton will celebrate its 13th Pedigree Working Dog Australian Kelpie Muster

CASTERTON will celebrate its 13th Pedigree Working Dog Australian Kelpie Muster this June long weekend and visitors can expect another fun-filled event for the whole family.
Incorporating the Casterton Kelpie Festival and the Casterton Working Dog Auction, plans for this year’s muster are running right on schedule.
Entries have already been received for many of the activities and community groups have been hard at work finalising plans to ensure the smooth running of the weekend’s activities.

Welcome to the first “Muster Mutterings” column which will keep you informed of the latest news for the 2009 Australian Kelpie Muster.
New Website:  Keep a lookout later this week for the launch of the new Casterton Kelpie Association website at www.kelpies-casterton.org.
The website will keep local, national and international kelpie enthusiasts in touch with the very latest developments on the festival program and the working dog auction.
In the lead-up to last year’s event, the website received more than 60,000 hits, and with new sections added this year we are expecting the new site to be even more popular.
Special thanks to website designer, Jenny Cleary from Tin Shed Creations for donating her time and skills to redesign the website and keep it up-to-date with the latest news.

Volunteers Recognised: Volunteers from the Casterton Kelpie Association will be officially recognised for their efforts in staging the kelpie festival and the working dog auction at a special reception in Casterton next month.
Held as part of National Volunteers Week, the Volunteer Recognition Reception will celebrate the contribution of the 200 local volunteers who work throughout the year to organise this amazingly successful event.
The reception will be held at the Casterton Town Hall on Wednesday, May 13 from 6pm with light refreshments served.
Kelpie association volunteers planning to attend are urged to RSVP by this Friday, May 1 to Kylie Walford at Glenelg Shire on 5522 2294.

The Australian Kelpie Muster will be held at Casterton on June 6-8.
